Welcome Junior Younan to Roc Nation Sports

Roc Nation Sports is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-year exclusive promotional agreement with rising undefeated super middleweight prospect Junior “The Young God” Younan (6-0, 5 KO’s). The announcement comes on the heels of Roc Nation Sports reaching an agreement with Younan’s former promoter, DiBella Entertainment, under which Roc Nation Sports acquired 100% of Younan’s promotional rights.

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Younan is considered one of New York City’s best boxing prospects. He began fighting competitively at the age eight and only two years later was called a “boxing prodigy” by the New York Times. He compiled an amateur record of 90-5, racking up an impressive series of titles along the way. In 2011 he was crowned a National Junior Golden Gloves champion and was U.S.A. Boxing’s number one rated junior boxer in his weight class.

Less than a month after his 18th birthday, Younan made his professional debut on November 9, 2013 at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, New York, stopping Kenneth Schmitz in the first round. A month later at the BB King Blues Club and Grill in Manhattan, Younan knocked out Travis McClaren with a crushing right hand only 22 seconds into the opening round of the bout. Another first round knockout victory came on January 31, 2014, this time against Thomas Allen at the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, New Jersey. On April 10, 2014, again at BB King’s, Younan knocked down Dustin Parrish twice in the opening round, first with a powerful right and then later with a left hook that caused the referee to stop the fight. His first round knockout streak came to an end on July 2, 2014 when Azamat Umarzoda lasted the four round distance, giving Younan his first unanimous decision victory. In his most recent fight on August 13, 2014, he started a new first round knockout streak, dispatching Marlon Farr at BB King’s.
