Roc Nation Records announces the signing of one of the hottest rappers from the DMV, Q Da Fool. With the excitement surrounding the announcement, Q Da Fool drops his new single and video “Not Playin”. The Grammy Award-winning, Zaytoven-produced track, and forthcoming 100 Keys EP, sets the stage for Q Da Fool’s piercing metaphors and intricate rhyme scheme; pairing new school sound with classic hip hop delivery. Directed by FoolWithTheCamera, the video provides the same level of dichotomy, showcasing the rapper’s energy and charisma alongside dark gritty imagery. You can watch the video HERE. “Working with Zaytoven on this EP has been a dope experience for me,” says Q about the forthcoming project. “I mean Zay is a legend in the game and when he sent me the first set of beats, I knew then that this 100 Keys EP was going to be a classic project for me.”
“The song ‘Not Playin’ is one of my favorite tracks that Q and I had recorded, because it has that real authentic trap bounce,” says Zaytonven. “I decided to work with Q when I first saw one of his videos. I knew then he was a star, so I sent Q’s manager Snake, some beats and when he sent the songs back, it was a confirmation to me that he was definitely a super star!”
Hailing from the streets of Largo, Maryland, Q Da Fool has been steadily building a name for himself. Following a string of successful 2017 releases (I Empty Pistols, Dirty but Clean and More Den a Savage 2), he dropped his mixtape, No Competition, earlier this year. Over the course of his four-year long career, the rapper has worked with the likes of Gucci Mane, Zaytoven, Shy Glizzy and his crew Rich Shootas; and at only 21 years old, he has much to say. Using his personal background as fuel for his music, he candidly covers it all: from his jail stint and spiritual journey to his love for music and his intense hustle. Through his grind, Q Da Fool continues to prove that he is true to both the game and his word.
Q Da Fool is currently readying the release of 100 Keys due this summer via Roc Nation / Republic Records.
