Roc Marciano
Hempstead, Long Island native Roc Marciano is your favorite rappers favorite rapper. Since he dropped his debut album Marcberg in 2010 and his sophomore effort Reloaded in 2012 there has been a shift in the sound of underground rap. These two albums served as the blueprint for a slew of new rappers. Following the release of his two critically acclaimed albums he dropped his producer album Marci Beaucoup which found him linking up with all his favorite rappers and was preceded by The Pimpire Strikes Back his first and only mixtape. After setting the tone and paving the way Roc took a three-year hiatus and returned in 2016 with Rosebudd's Revenge, the first half of his two-part project. He quickly followed up the album with Rosebudd's Revenge Pt.2: The Bitterdose. The album solidified his flawless catalog and fans have even ranked it as one of his top 3 albums. Following up the release of RR2 Roc released Behold a Dark Horse and ended 2018 with Kaos a collaborative album with DJ Muggs. Roc didn't stop there and released Marcielago in 2019 and 2020 dropped his most experimental album to date Mt. Marci which boasted features from Action Bronson, ScHoolboy Q, Kool Keith, his artist Stove God Cooks. That same year he dipped his feet in the fashion game becoming the brand ambassador for The Gallery Dept. Roc returned last year with his long awaited and highly anticipated collborative album with Alchemist titled Elephant Man's Bones, proving once again that he is only getting better. This year he stepped away from the mic and stepped back behind the boards providing production for Jay Worthy on their collaborative album Nothing Bigger Than The Progam. Not only has Roc paved the way with his sound and style as well as doing everything independently under his label Marci Enterprises he also helped usher in a direct-to-consumer sales strategy which he started with his album Rosebudd's Revenge. Instead of releasing his music on streaming services right away, Roc has opted to sell digital copies of his albums exclusively on his website allowing his fans and true supporters to gain early access a few weeks before releasing it on all streaming platforms. The release strategy has paid off and has inspired other artists to adopt a similar strategy. Roc Marciano has been on an 13-year run and has shown no signs of slowing down. He has continued to excel and recently signed a partnership between his new lable Pimpire International and Roc Nation’s Equity Distribution.
