VICTOR CRUZ

Victor Cruz began his football career at Paterson Catholic high school in Paterson, New Jersey. There, he played wide receiver and defensive back, earning All-State honors his senior year. Cruz spent his college years at the University of Massachusetts and was named a first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association wide receiver for 2008 and 2009.

In 2010, Cruz was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants, where he became a fan favorite for celebrating every touchdown he scored with his signature salsa dance. In 2011, he eclipsed the all-time Giants single season receiving record and was named second-team All-Pro. That year he was at his very best when helping the Giants win 20-17 in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game. Victor and the Giants continued on to win Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots in historic fashion and in turn cementing Victor in the hearts of Giants fan’s around the world.

In 2012 Victor went on to have another tremendous season leading the Giants in receiving once again and making his first Pro Bowl appearance.

On July 8, 2013, Cruz signed a five year contract extension following his earlier one-year tender with the Giants.
