Born on January 31, 1988, in Las Minas, Dominican Republic you can say that Mozart La Para, real name Erickson Fernández, came from the “hood”. His name Mozart comes from writing songs early in his career for other artists, “La Para” (To Stop) is Dominican slang meaning the fear that his opponents would feel when the time came to freestyle face to face with him.

Mozart discovered his passion and talent for music when he was 12 years old and became part of the “underground” hip-hop movement in the Dominican Republic. His lyrics are infused with positive messages and a lot of the themes come from his own experiences. To listen to his music is to understand where he comes from.

His mission is to inspire others to follow their dreams and never give up. This was the main topic of the 2015 movie based on his life “Pueto Pa Mi” .
