Leonard Fournette is an American football running back and 2017 NFL draft prospect hailing from Louisiana State University. A consensus First-Team All-American in 2015, Fournette is considered one of the premiere prospects in this upcoming year’s NFL draft class.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Fournette attended St. Augustine High School. A four-year starter, USA Today National Offensive Player of the Year, Parade All-American and ESPN’s top-ranked recruit, Fournette was one of the most decorated prospects in Louisiana high school football history. With a multitude of offers from programs across the country, Fournette opted to attend nearby Louisiana State University.

Fournette’s talents translated to the collegiate level seamlessly, setting a school record for most rushing yards as a freshman with 1,034 and recording five 100-yard rushing games. Building off a successful freshman campaign, Fournette burst onto the national scene as a sophomore, leading both the SEC and the country in rushing with 162.8 yards per game. Fournette became just the 10th player in FBS history to record 1,000 rushing yards by the fifth game of the season, earning consensus First-Team All American honors and finishing sixth in Heisman voting. Fournette finished his remarkable sophomore season with a dominating five-touchdown performance in the 2015 Texas Bowl. Despite sustaining an ankle injury in the early stages of the 2016 season, Fournette managed to accumulate 843 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games throughout his junior year. Against Ole Miss, Fournette set a new school record with 284 yards, breaking off touchdown runs of 59, 76 and 78 yards as he led the Tigers to a 38-21 victory over their conference foe. On December 5th, Fournette announced his intention to declare for the NFL Draft.

Fournette has shined off the field, as well— in 2015, he earned the SEC Sportsmanship Award for his support for the victims of the South Carolina flooding.

Fournette signed with Roc Nation Sports in December of 2016.
