The rap world is at a crossroads. With such a diverse display, J. Cole (born Jermaine Cole) is poised to wake up a dormant industry and cement his name in this game. Cole was recently nominated in the Best New Artist category for the 2012 Grammy Awards.

New Video: J. Cole Sideline Story

A fitting punctuation to his gold debut album, J Cole delivers the video for “Sideline Story” the latest visual from his critically-acclaimed album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, which spawned the platinum hit “Workout.” Directed by Axel Laramee and Adam Roy, the clip documents Cole’s international 2011 tour, capturing the song’s straightforward production and lyrics, representing the journey Cole has taken with the release of his first album and setting the stage for his follow up. As his newest single, “Nobody’s Perfect,” featuring Missy Elliott, currently climbs the charts, Cole is touring the US and continuing to record and document his story.

J. Cole To Host Inaugural Dreamville Weekend

Platinum-selling artist and 2012 “Best New Artist” Grammy nominee, J Cole will host his Inaugural Dreamville Weekend beginning Thursday, March 1st. This weekend aims to give back and support his hometown community and city of Fayetteville, NC. All events are geared to reach and inspire young people, while recognizing leaders in the community.

J.Cole’s activities will include two inspiring visits to Fayetteville high schools including his Alma mater, Terry Sanford High School and official proclamation of J. Cole Day. “To bring an end to the Inaugural Dreamville Weekend, J. Cole and Dreamville will stage the Inaugural “Dollar and a Dream show” at the Fillmore in Charlotte. Proceeds from each ticket sale will be donated to the Cumberland Community Foundation.” Additionally, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the CIAA college basketball tournament, J. Cole and Hennessy V.S will welcome tastemakers and celebrities to an intimate dinner affair at Osso restaurant in uptown Charlotte on March 2nd. The evening will toast not only to the storied history and academic excellence of the CIAA conference, but also to those who passionately pursue their dreams.
