Braden Shipley is a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Shipley was drafted in the first round (15th overall) of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. On the MLB.com 2016 Top 100 prospect list, Shipley was the rated the #67 prospect in all of baseball, and he was a consensus top 40 prospect in 2015. He was brought up to the Major Leagues in 2016.

After signing with the Diamondbacks, Shipley quickly made his way through the ranks of the team’s minor league system, participating in the 2014 MLB Futures Game and spending the 2015 season with the AA Mobile BayBears. Shipley was dominant throughout the second half of 2015, posting a 2.66 ERA in 84.2 innings, and finishing the year with 118 strikeouts.

Shipley attend the University of Nevada and earned WAC Pitcher of the Year honors as a sophomore. Following a strong junior season, Shipley became the first first-round pick in University of Nevada baseball history.

Born and raised in Medford, OR, Shipley attended North Medford High School, where he led his team to the American Legion World Series.

Off the field, Shipley is an avid outdoorsman and dog lover. His cousin, Jordan Shipley, is a former NFL wide receiver. In February 2016, Roc Nation Sports announced that it has signed Shipley to its roster of athletes ahead of the 2016 MLB season.
