Braden Shipley is a pitcher with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. Shipley was drafted in the first round of the 2013 MLB Draft and was the Diamondbacks’ top prospect before getting called up to the majors in 2016.


Shipley attended the University of Nevada and earned WAC Pitcher of the Year honors as a sophomore. Following a strong junior season, Shipley was selected as the only first-round pick in University of Nevada’s baseball history.


After signing with the Diamondbacks, Shipley quickly made his way through the ranks of the team’s minor league system, participating in the 2014 MLB Futures Game and spending the 2015 season with the AA Mobile BayBears. In 2016, Shipley was named a Pacific Coast League All Star while with the AAA Reno Aces. Braden Shipley made his Major League debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 25, 2016.


Born and raised in Medford, Oregon, Shipley attended North Medford High School, where he led his team to the American Legion World Series.
